Student Testimonials

Steven, 17 y.o., China

6 weeks went by. I finished my English course at Kiwi English Academy and I've been thinking that it is important to be able to speak English fluently to go to high school and to know different cultures. After two months of researching about the best way to learn English, to travel and also to make friends, I chose to join Kiwi English Academy. I spent brilliant time. Here I have enough opportunities to speak English and our teachers are very friendly and conscientious. Auckland definitely is a nice place to stay and study. The school has good social activities and many different cultures. Auckland is very clean and air is very fresh. It is difficult to sump up my experience in a few words, but I would say learning useful real English in context, immerse yourself in New Zealand by joining activities organised by school and making lifelong friends from all over the world... What can I say? I just don't want to leave!

I appreciated the unique stay at this school. Students and teachers were very nice and patient. I like the fact that there were not a lot in class. The school is in a good street, we can buy different food for lunch and do shopping after school. It is reassuring to have teachers who speak your language. When we have a problem or we want to know simething they are here for us. I have made a lot of progress and now I can have a real conversation with people. Even if I make mistakes, people understand me and I speak easily. It was a good experience and I think I will come back to this school.

I spent good time here and I also learnt a lot of English. The activities were very interesting and fun, and the tour guide was friendly and answered all the questions we had. The host family was perfect. They were very friendly and nice and gave me a lot of chance to speak English. My room was big and comfortable and I felt like at home here. The teachers were very helpful and I learnt a lot of English. Clases were interesting and very useful.

During these three weeks I've really enjoyed my experience in New Zealand. My host family has been very good to me since the beginning. I practised a lot of English, especially with my host mother who is really talkative and also has helped me a lot. I had fund during the lessons. Two teachers were very nice. I likes the activities. Some of the trips were awesome, such as Tiritiri Matangi. I think it is definitely worth coming here and spending whole day on a plane from Spain to New Zealand. New Zealand is a beautiful place to visit and I would absolutely recommend it to my friends. You can't miss such experience!

This was the first time that I lived in a foreign country. And this was the best time of my life. Now I love New Zealand. I have a lot of friends. I have many teachers and have a funny class. In NZ I went to a lot of beautiful and famous places. I saw Kiwi life and many things in NZ. I am lucky because my homestay is close to school. It's easy to go to city or another place. I have gained 2 kgs. My homestay mom makes very delicious food. We have discussion when we have dinner. She taught us about NZ life, some words and a lot of experience. It is very good. I am lucky that I decided to go to New Zealand!

At first I'd like to say thank you to my teachers. Thank you for your help, my English has really improved. I could not understand what teachers were talking about at first, but I can understand them now. Moreover, I enjoy listerning to teachers talk. We solve many problems in Maths and Science class. I gain confidence when my answers are correct. I am excited about going to Western Springs College. I will show my face some day to tell you about my school like. Thank you very much for the five weeks. I had a good experience.

I will always remember the Kiwi experience. I would like to thank Kiwi English Academy for looking after us and of course for all the activities we did. I really enjoyed my high school experience at Sacred Heart College. During my stay in NZ I have learnt a lot of things such as Maori culture, rugby, stories (for example, One Tree Hill) and lots more.

I had a great time at KEA and I learnt a lot of things from KEA teachers. I made many friends. They are Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Russia, Thai, Vietnamese...etc. I am glad to have them as friends. My English was low, but now I can talk to them. I like KEA teachers too. They are kind, interesting and sometimes strict. Thanks to my teachers I can now write these sentences. I also like my host family. I really like the dinner they made each night. They took me up to Goat Island which was really beautiful.  I have a lot of good memoried from KEA and homestay when I go back to Japan.

I've been in New Zealand for 2 months now and I am really happy here. It's a beautiful country with very nice and kind people. I have very nice homestay and roommates. I love my New Zealand school, now I really feel that I am like at home. Teachers are very kind and nice, they have good sense of humour. I have lots of new friends, both Kiwi friends and international from different countries. I have no time to get bored. Every weekend I spend my time on trips around North Island or in Auckland. I am a quiet type of person, but here I surprise my parents and myself I do things that I would never have done in Czech Republic, such as raftine, Jet boating and Sky Jump. I am really sorry to leave so soon, but I really enjoyed my live here and would like to come back soon.
